Daily Itinerary

1/24/22 – Day 0: DUBLIN.

You have arrived in Dublin's fair city, found your own accommodation and settled in.

5pm: Meet at 'the Millennium Spire' (aka the 'Stiletto in the Ghetto) right in the middle of O'Connell street (Dublins main thoroughfare) and out front of the GPO, the General Post Office, and where Irish rebels struck for freedom from Britain in 1916. We'll enjoy an informative and fun historc walking tour of Dublin. We'll saunter through the bustling Temple Bar district (the Temple of Bars!) pointing out music spots and dinner options; and end up at 6pm in the Dingle Whiskey Bar on Nassau Street. Everyone is free to enjoy dinner on their own and maybe meet up again in the Temple Bar.

Patrick & Lindsay with our Irish team

1/25/22 – Day 1: DUBLIN TO GALWAY

Wedding Guests meet at 9:00am at 'The Harding Hotel' on Fishamble street (in front of Christchurch Cathedral, don't worry we'll make sure you find it and get there on foot or by taxi) to depart for the official beginning of our epic 'World Wide Wade Wedding' Tour of Ireland...

After a drive of only 15 minutes, its our first stop! The Phoenix Park, the worlds largest urban park. Home to the Irish President, the American Ambassador, oh and 5,000 'Irish red' wild deer. You can chase the deer or get a photo at the gigantic Papal cross where the Pope said Mass to 1 million people.

Then a short 1.5 hour drive across the flat midlands of Ireland, via peat-bogs and the River Shannon, to lively and magical Galway on the West coast and the 'Wild Atlantic Way'

We'll check into our city-centre Hotel, unwind and relax. Some shopping or nap time.

Then 2 hours later we'll meet for a fun and informative orientation and walking tour of colourful Galway. You are free for dinner in this foodie paradise and afterward we can all meet up for some greta live Irish music and dancing in the famous 'Latin Quarter'... (Christopher Columbus once lived in Galway!)

1/26/22 – Day 2 – Galway to Killarney

After breakfast we'll depart at 9.30am and drive along the beautiful 'Wild Atlantic Way', Ireland's famous coastal drive. We'll visit The Burren, and incredible rocky landscape, almost lunar, with 26 different types of Orchid, and then the highlight - the world-famous Cliffs of Moher. (the Cliffs of Insanity in the movie 'The Princess Bride')

Then onwards, south to beautiful and charming Killarney.

Possible guest appearance in Killarney by Patrick and Lindsay in Irelands busiest town for visitors. Music, pubs, castles, clubs and a spectacular National park right on our doorstep.

We'll checkin into our Hotel in the centre of Killarney and you can enjoy shopping or nap time, or enjoy the hotel spa and pool.

Then a fun evening of live Irish music in a few of Killarney's many pubs. We will certainly meet in the pub of our good friend, local legend Rory O'Connor.

1/27/22 – Day 3 –  Killarney to Dingle:

10am: After a leisurely breakfast we will all gather and enjoy a famous 'Jaunting car' ride through Killarney National Park. The Jaunting cars are 6 seater wagons drawn by  sturdy Irish cob-horses, all 6 passengers get a 'hanky-panky blanket' to keep them warm and the driver, a 'Jarvey' will tell stories and point out Leprechauns as we blissfully wander through the woods, by the lake and over to majestic Ross Castle (800 year old ancestral castle of the O'Donoghue Clan) for a photo-op.

We will go in a convoy of several Jaunting cars, good fun and photo-ops are guaranteed.

12noon: onwards to magical Dingle.

1pm: Free for lunch in Dingle, loads of places to choose from.

2pm 'The Gentleman' Cask tasting at Dingle Whiskey Distillery. Patrick and the guys from 'the Gentleman' invested in a 'Founding Fathers' cask of Dingle whiskey in 2013. The cask has been maturing since and is worth a small fortune. Patrick will open the cask for the first time in 8 years to celebrate his wedding to Lindsay, for whiskey connoisseurs, this is massive! If you dont like Whiskey, fear not - they happen to also make the best Gin in the world, officially!

3.30pm: Check into Hotel

Dingle Pub crawl beginning at 5pm (this is the stuff of legend). Dingle has 2,000 people and 56 pubs! all within a few hundred metres of each other. With local characters and music its simply the great pub crawl venue on earth!

Patrick in 'Dick Macks', one of his top 50 pubs in Dingle!

1/28/22 – Day 4 – Activities in Dingle:

Morning Hike to Eask Tower or Slea Head Drive (this is one the great 'must-see' scenic drives in Europe, and only takes a few hours),

2pm Falconry Experience at Milltown House. Learn to fly beautiful birds of Prey at the Kingdom School of Falconry, founded by Patrick and his partners in 2018. Don a leather glove and have hawks, owls, falcons and even Orla the Golden Eagle fly to your hand...

5pm: Wedding Party Rehearsal and Dinner

1/29/22 - Day 5 – Wedding Day

1:00pm Wedding Ceremony, post ceremony drinks across the street at Dick Mack's.

Reception to follow at Milltown House on beautiful Dingle Harbour

1/30/22 Day 6 – Return to Dublin

After a relaxing breakfast, we bid farewell to our beloved Dingle and begin our journey back to Dublin. Our highlight today will be the world-famous Blarney Castle. If you're brave enough you can climb to the top, dangle over and kiss the legendary Blarney stone and be granted the 'gift of the gab' for 7 years (oh and its also home to the worlds largest Irish-souvenir store!)

Then we'll enjoy a pleasant drive from Cork to Dublin with a photo-stop (and potty stop!) at the Rock of Cashel.

5pm approx: Drop everyone back to the Harding Hotel at Christchurch Cathedral. 'Go raibh mile maith agat' (100,000 thank-yous in Gaelic)

DUBLIN HOTEL OPTIONS:

(Suggestions for Pre-Tour Dublin Hotels)

Here are several good Dublin Hotel options for you.

Budget option - Harding Hotel, Fishamble street. www.hardinghotel.ie The Harding is a very good 3 star hotel with a great location across from Christchurch Cathedral and close to all bus stops from the airport and taxis. Remember this is the tour that our tour starts and ends at, so is very handy. But even if you don't stay here, there is no problem getting here on the morning of departure.

Historic and charming, and a wee bit pricey - Buswells Hotel, Molesworth Street, opposite our National Parliament and the National Museum. Well served by the airport bus routes and taxis.

High end - The Westin Hotel on Westmoreland Street is a very nice and centrally located hotel.

The Shelbourne Hotel on St. Stephens Green is arguably the jewel in the crown of Dublin hotels, it now comes under the auspices of the Marriott brand.

There are lots of other choices of course and I actually prefer to book hotels for my own trips to Dublin on www.hotels.com or www.booking.com, they seem to be the best option available with the best rates and inventory.

Do let me know if you have any questions about hotels you might find. info@essentialirelandtours.com or connect with me on Facebook.

note: All tours depart from the front of the Harding Hotel (In Dublin city-centre beside Christchurch Cathedral and close to Temple bar) at 9.30 am and return here again at the end of the tour at around 5pm.
